We’re Halfway Through the Year: Revisiting 2022 Predictions
We’re halfway through the year! Are you keeping up with the trends that we predicted way back in December? We hope so! Social audio, customer service, video content… keep scrolling to find out what’s new in the social media marketing world.
Customer Relations Will Deepen
Prediction: Despite being in the digital age, we will see platforms foster deeper customer relationships.
What’s NEW halfway through the year? We’ve seen a shift in how we can foster those relationships! Facebook recently announced its merge with WhatsApp messaging into the Meta Business Suite. Why is this important? Because between 2020-2021, there was a 110% increase in consumers who identified social messaging as their preferred channel to resolve customer service issues (Zendesk). Messaging platforms like WhatsApp will open the door to global customers while having a seamless line of communication. What is your preferred method of fostering customer relationships?
Video Content is So Hot Right Now
Prediction: According to a Cisco study, 82% of all online content will be video content by 2022.
What’s NEW? We were all fully prepared for this one to be true, but let’s see how social platforms are supporting this trend. This month Instagram Head, Adam Mosseri, released a full-screen home feed option and lengthened reels to 90 seconds placing video content at the forefront of the application.
Organic Growth Will Be a Hard Feat, But Not Impossible
Prediction: Although the average organic reach for a post is just over 5%, it is not impossible to reach new audiences and gain brand awareness.
What’s NEW? To answer this, we will have to touch on why your content marketing strategy needs to keep on trend! According to EarthWeb, content on Instagram Reels gets 22% more engagement compared to regular videos on the platform. More engagement means a higher chance of generating a large amount of organic reach without having to touch your budget! Growth of UGC
Prediction: User-generated content (UGC) is a phenomenal way to build your brand’s authenticity while growing your community outreach.
What’s NEW? According to a social media today article, approximately 80% of consumers say UGC highly impacts their purchasing decisions. Keep sharing that user-generated content, friends! Check out ways you can incorporate UGC into your marketing strategy – visit link here!
Social Audio
Prediction: Social audio platforms like Clubhouse give audiences a direct line of communication between themselves and the show host on topics they find interesting.
What’s NEW halfway through the year? Social Audio may not be catching the attention of smaller businesses yet, but LinkedIn is making strides to do so. The platform recently announced new additions to its Creator Mode, which provides more ways for users to build their presence on the professional social network, like Audio Events! The platform is now giving all Creator Mode users access to its audio rooms option.
These past few months sure flew by, but that didn’t stop Mark Zuckerberg, Adam Mosseri, and even Elon Musk from conceptualizing a whole new space in the social world. If you want to stay on top of all the trends and have some tangible tips along the way, follow us at @bintertwined.
