BECOMING A Master of Social Media: Part One

It’s spring! You know what that means… It’s time to tackle that spring cleaning! Get rid of what is cluttering your life and what has been weighing down your to-do list.

Did you know you can do the same with your social media marketing? Whether you need to refresh your social media strategy or want to launch a new TikTok channel, now is the time to clear out what isn’t working and make room for what’s next!

Now we know this can sound overwhelming, but don’t worry, we are here to help! We want to BECOME your go-to place for all things social media and the first place to start is a step-by-step guide to becoming a master of social media.

Research, Research, Research

We cannot stress how important it is to know your audience! This is the key to tailoring your content and capitalizing on engagement. Research your niche, competitors and top customers. Identify their age range, location, where they eat, shop, play and vacay and any other details you can uncover! These crucial details will make all the difference when creating a platform, bio and content strategy tailored exactly to who you want to reach!

Pick Your Platform

Time is money, and you only have so much of it! Look at each platform with a discerning eye – which ones are truly moving the needle and which ones are simply a time suck! You do not need to be in all places. READ THAT AGAIN! You do not need to be on every platform, and present all day every day to serve your marketing goals. Look at the audience research again and see where they are most active and focus your time, talent and money there!

Choose Your KPIs

We just talked about Marketing goals. Which means you have to get crystal clear on what goals matter to YOU!! For some, it will be new follower acquisition. For others, it will be post engagement, and yet others will be sending traffic through to your website or product sales.  Where do you want (and need) to see the most growth and engagement? But this is entirely up to you, and these KPIs can always change but should always be aligned with your business goals. Focus on just 2-3 that you will monitor and work to improve with your new, cleaned-up, hyper-targeted strategy.

Create Your Social Media Plan

Think about what content you want to create, how long it will take, and how often you wish to post. We always recommend a variety in the type of content you are posting on all platforms!
